After Liverpool's embarrassing loss last night, in which they once again wasted the upper handhorrific defending was the show piece of the night as the supposed Merseyside giantsdisplayed exactly why they are not capable of lifting any silverware this season. As I watched the match on Livegoals.com's live football streaming, on a battered old netbook with a crack in the screen I didn't have the best of views. Liverpool's fans are renowned formaking excuses all season, and blaming the injuries, now to me this is very annoying when other clubs are missing 10 first team players and left without any midfield or defence, referring to Everton and United respectively. Any Footy fan can tell you that the Red's are nothing without Torres and Gerrard. And this has been the case for the start of the season. However the reds have no excuse not to be performing to the level the fans expect.

Feeling sorry for Benitez however seems only human the guy clearly should've have been sacked two seasons ago, and now he is simply looking worse and worse as a manager.he simply hasn't achieved enough in the last couple of seasonsand he shows no sign of improvement. as the two big boys at Anfield are injured ,it seems the Kop will be saying goodbye to Rafa very soon. The Red's manager has come under so much flack in recent times that it seems that replacing him has been on the cards for a while.

Benitez stated after the Reading match exactly how disappointed he was to lose in such an embarrassing way especially considering the sides performance was nothing less than awful in the cup match. Liverpool are now out of the Champions league, the title race and the FA cup. There only chance of silverware are simply little more than consolation trophies, as the reds will not be receiving any top end silverware this season. The sad thing is that Rafa will not be remembered for his success at Liverpool but as a manager that was kept on past his sell by date, it is only a matter of time, even if he wins Europa and buys himself another season what will he do then? One slip up and he'll be out of a job. To stop Rafa getting axed mid season then the reds really need to win against Stoke on Saturday. In actuality the two man team scenario is purely Rafa's fault, he has completely banked on those two players being fit, without them he has a mediocre side at best, and that is clearly not the way to manage a premiership side. When you look at United's injury ridden side, such as their thirteen injured defenders, that is when you can safely say that injuries will have to effect performance, and yet they have coped far better than Liverpool with this issue. Now I'll be watching the match this Saturday on livegoals.com and I won't be sitting through another abysmal performance, if it's anything like last night I might just turn off and keep track of the live scores so good luck to Rafa and potentially goodbye.
