You've almost got to feel a little sorry for Benitez his reputation is just getting worse and worse as time goes on he clearly should have left the club a long time ago.he hasn't met the clubs expectationsit looks terribly unlikely that anything will change anytime soon. as the two big boys at Anfield are injured ,and it looks like Rafa will be saying goodbye to Anfield soon enough.The speculation of Benitez departure is hardly shocking when you consider that no trophies have come to Anfield in the last four seasons.

Benitez stated after the Reading match exactly how disappointed he was to lose in such an embarrassing way especially considering the sides performance was nothing less than awful in the cup match. Liverpool are now out of the Champions league, the title race and the FA cup.There only chance of silverware are simply little more than consolation trophies, as the reds will not be receiving any top end silverware this season.The sad thing is that Rafa will not be remembered for his success at Liverpool but as a manager that was kept on past his sell by date, it is only a matter of time, even if he wins Europa and buys himself another season what will he do then? One slip up and he'll be out of a job. The only way to prevent Benitez from getting ditched mid season appears to be a string of victories without Torres and Gerrard, so not much hope for that then. When it comes down to it the two man team scenario is entirely Benitez's fault, he has completely banked on those two players being fit, without them he has a mediocre side at best, and that is clearly not the way to manage a premiership side. It's sad to look at united and how they've coped with a much bigger injury problem and then look at Liverpool and see them flailing in such a pathetic manner. It is clearly and embarrassment to Merseyside which Benitez is responsible for.
